The 2015 Spring Conference & Celebration of Fellows will be held April 15-17 at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, California. The conference is designed for Fellows of the Litigation Counsel of America to enhance their already superior trial skills, to address practical issues and topics challenging litigators in today’s changing legal environment, and to afford each individual the opportunity to hear from and interact with some of North America’s finest trial and appellate lawyers.
Participants will be provided with many of the necessary tools for continued success and expertise in trial techniques, evidence presentation, courtroom technology, case evaluations, marketing, as well as negotiations and alternative dispute resolution. New Fellows of the LCA will be formally inducted into the society at a black tie gala on Thursday evening, April 16, 2015. The conference will give Fellows the opportunity to network with other distinguished attorneys from across North America, earn CLE credit and enjoy the beauty of the California coast.
WHERE
Known as the “Pacific Riviera – Where Nature’s Palette is at Work,” the Newport Coast community is at the eastern edge of Newport Beach and averages 340 days of sunshine each year. This prestigious, world-class community encompasses the South Orange County coast between Corona del Mar and Laguna Beach. Newport Coast features panoramic neighborhoods from the coastal canyons to the Pacific Ocean. Generous preserved open space, beautiful landscapes, multiple nature trails and coastal splendor establish the character of this city. The historic Crystal Cove State Park includes three miles of coastline and is tucked between the Pacific Coast Highway and the ocean.
Newport Beach is known for its villages, each with its own distinct character and appearance. Take time to travel the surrounding areas to get a flavor of the distinct residential and commercial neighborhoods that combine to make the city one of the most attractive communities on the west coast.
While you are in the area, spend a morning enjoying a walk or bike ride along the Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve. Be sure to visit Newport Harbor, the largest pleasure boat harbor in the world, with a variety of private ocean excursions from deep-sea fishing and sailing to relaxing sunset cruises of the harbor. Surf or swim in the Pacific and enjoy the California sunshine along the eight miles of city beaches. Take time to shop in one of the villages, or picnic in one of their beautifully maintained parks. As the day winds down, stop by the Ocean Front Walk in the early evening to watch the sunset and later dine at one of the city’s many outstanding restaurants.

Guest accommodations will be available at 4:00 PM on arrival day and reserved until 12:00 PM on departure day.

Rates will be honored three (3) days pre and post-conference, based on availability at time of reservation. Rooms and rates on pre and post-conference dates are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Making your reservation early is strongly suggested. If room block capacity is reached on or before March 11, 2015, the LCA rate will not be guaranteed and may no longer be available. Any requests for special room arrangements must be made at the time of the call.

Please familiarize yourself with Pelican Hill’s cancellation policy as the LCA is not responsible for any cancellation fees or other hotel charges. When reservations are made, a deposit equal to the room rate and taxes for the first and last night for each reservation is required. The deposit is fully refundable if cancellation is made at least seven (7) days prior to the scheduled date of arrival.
Pelican Hill is perched upon the coastline, just south of Newport Beach. The Resort is a 15-minute drive from Orange County’s John Wayne Airport, and a 45-minute drive from Los Angeles International Airport.

The LCA has reserved 32 tee times for Wednesday, April 15, 2015. We will tee off on the North Course every ten minutes beginning at 9:45 AM. Please note that the tee times are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the high demand for Pelican Hill Golf Club, reservations must be made no later than March 25. The cost is $290 per person. This fee includes the following:

- Forecaddie (gratuity not included)
