The 2017 Spring Conference & Celebration of Fellows will be held May 3-5 at La Fonda on the Plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The conference is designed for Fellows of the Litigation Counsel of America to enhance their already superior trial skills, to address practical issues and topics challenging litigators in today’s changing legal environment, and to afford each individual the opportunity to hear from and interact with North America’s finest trial and appellate lawyers.

A portion of the program will be presented by the rotating faculty of the Trial Law Institute and will count toward its Trial Master Certification, contemporaneously with CLE credits.

Participants will be provided with advanced tools for continued success and expertise in trial techniques, evidence presentation, courtroom technology, case evaluations and marketing, as well as negotiations and alternative dispute resolution. New Fellows of the LCA will be formally inducted into the society during the black tie Celebration of Fellows Gala on Thursday, May 4. The conference will also give Fellows the opportunity to network with other distinguished attorneys from across North America, earn CLE credit and experience the splendor of the American Southwest.

SANTA FE

Santa Fe, known as The City Different, is a magical, exuberant, colorful journey at any time of year. Its legendary history and culture will fascinate and inspire you. Its art galleries and diverse visual arts span ancient traditional art to the most contemporary, making it one of the largest and most important art markets in the country. Santa Fe embodies a rich history, melding Hispanic, Anglo and Native American cultures whose influences are apparent in everything from the architecture, the food, the art and more.

Situated at 7,000 feet above sea level in the foothills of the southern Rocky Mountains with low humidity and 325 sunny days a year, Santa Fe is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. There are miles of mountain hiking and biking trails, rivers to raft, and fish to be caught. Enjoy a horseback ride, a guided llama trek, or a Jeep tour. Explore Indian ruins, hike to high mountain lakes, or view petroglyphs carved by ancient Pueblo people. If you prefer a more tranquil activity, you can enjoy one of the Santa Fe walking tours or take a ride on an open-air tour bus. If golf is your preference, you can golf year round beneath turquoise skies.

Santa Fe has long been a center for arts and culture; Santa Fe ranks as the country’s third largest art market. You will find nearly 300 galleries and dealers to explore. Santa Fe has the third largest State Museum system in the country featuring culture, history and traditions of this region and the world. With a backdrop of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the world-class Santa Fe Opera also makes its home there.

In recent years, Santa Fe has earned a stellar reputation with food-lovers. There are more than 200 restaurant choices ranging from local New Mexican flavors to creative Southwestern cuisine to authentic world cuisines.
